Family Outing

I had a jam packed weekend. My brother, sister-in-law, niece, and nephew visited from L.A., I had a wedding to photograph, it was my hometown's local festival, and we managed to sneak in a little session of my visiting family. I was a little nervous too since neither child had napped that day, but as you see it didn't seem to affect the photos!

I love these two photos b/c this was on our way to take the photos and you can see how thrilled they are about it.

But we soon had smiles...

I LOVE this photo of my niece, probably my favorite.

Marissa & Adam

Marissa & Adam are planning a 2009 wedding out-of-state, but wanted to hire me for their engagements. They were a great couple to work with, and with a little encouragement we had full-blown PDA by the end of the session!

Shannon & Jerry

Shannon and Jerry tied knot on August 2nd over in the Twin Cities. They had a wonderful day and a great family. They were hilarious, I loved the father of the bride speech! The church also had a dance studio in it, how cool is that?! I of course had to use it for some photos. Enjoy!

Jerry gave his groomsmen pocket watches, and they had to show them off.

The dance floor was PACKED, their friends know who to PAR - TY!

1 Year and going Strong!

Last week I photographed a 1 year-old girl who I also had the pleasure of photographing at 6-months and I also got to photograph her parent's wedding. So it's great to see them and see their family changing, especially since they have a long drive to get to me. She did so well and LOVED to give her mommy kisses, even from far away, as you'll see.

Cari & Jed

Where to begin... Jed said to me when I left the evening of their wedding on July 19th, "Boy I can't wait to see what you write on your blog about our wedding." Well here it goes...

It's so easy to get caught up in wedding planning. Figuring out flowers, food, photography, and everything else, but in the end all that really matters is that at the end of the day the couple were able to get married. And for a few scary moments that almost didn't happen for Cari and Jed.

Jed was hospitalized the Friday before the wedding and we didn't know until Saturday morning if he would be released. Thankfully he was, and although I could tell Jed was suffering, he put on a brave front and made it through the day, and everything else could not have gone better!

The couple along with their families and friends were awesome! Cari's mom made me feel like her adoptive daughter for the day, making sure I got fed and even had me sit with them at the dinner. So I just have to say that I am so thankful Cari and Jed were able to have their day and they could not have gone through that situation any better. Congrats you two!!

I had to get a shot of the hospital bracelet.

The girls relaxing... what fun!

I LOVE this photo with the sun just over head.

Sharing a first dance shot is a must, when you have lighting this cool.

Chubby Legs

Last week I photographed this cute 6-month-old boy, who probably has the cutest and chubbiest legs I've ever seen! He was such a joy to photograph and so easy too! He was happy the whole time and he's at the stage where he LOVES to stick out his tongue. Mom, Dad, and I were laughing about that through the whole session. I think he could be related to to Gene Simmons from KISS.
